MRI Specialist Chronic Migraine Treatment Centers

Stimulating the nerves with an electrical signal is known to block the nerves from sensing pain. This is a study about 8 patients with chronic migraine that were treated with an implant to stimulate the nerves in their brain. If patients had an abnormal sensation caused by the stimulation, this was an indication of pain relief. Within 30 minutes of stimulation, the patient’s headache was completely subdued and lasted until the treatment device was turned off. When the device was turned off, the headache had returned instantly and was most painful within 20 minutes.
