Magnesium supplements for classic migraine. 

The effect of magnesium supplements as migraine treatment was tested in 81 patients.
Researchers started with a baseline of four weeks after which sufferers either received the magnesium supplement of 600mg which is considered a high dose or they received an inactive placebo.
The study continued for a further 12 weeks. 
From the ninth week onwards week till the end of the study the migraine patients taking the magnesium supplement showed a significant improvement in their migraines compared to those who took the placebo.
Specifically, the number of days they suffered from migraine and the amount of medication they needed decreased significantly.
The conclusion was that high dose magnesium supplements are effective in the treatment of migraine for many sufferers.
