Hemicrania continua treated with SPG nerve block.

SPG nerve blocks have been used to treat many different types of headaches, with evidence that strongly supports using this method to treat cluster headache. There are a few alternative treatment options available to patients suffering from hemicrania continua that do not respond to indomethacin. After a 52-year-old woman stopped using indomethacin for her headaches, she was treated with an SPG nerve block. It was effective for treating her headaches and therefore using this type of nerve block may be an effective treatment for other patients.
